"All garments are exclusively made from materials like organic silk, leather, linen, and cotton, recycled polyester and lyocell, making it one of H&M’s greenest collections ever. For the first time, even beads and sequins are recycled. Ann-Sofie hopes this collection can show consumers and other retailers the great possibilities sustainable materials give, and dispel prejudice against them. "
And for most people who are like me, the idea of recycled clothing makes me think of the film Zoolander when they are walking the runway in what was basically trash straight from the bin. However, this dress and so many others prove that they really can make sustainable fashion that is beautiful and affordable.
This shoot was kind of a spur of the moment thing, and I am just blown away at how beautiful the photographs turned out. I was contacted by Genevieve Renee (who shot my wedding) and she was interested in shooting this dress, so of course I jumped at the chance to work with her again! She is so professional, and her photography speaks for itself. You can find out more about her by clicking HERE, and check out her work for Calgary's very own DOTE magazine by clicking HERE.
