Let me start off by saying that if you haven't seen the fantastic little movie called "In Bruges" you most definitely haven't lived. I hate to say that is what brought me to this quaint little town, but it's true. Between Collin Farrell good looks, the mystique of the old time city, and the yummy food I knew this was the place for me. And it lived up to the movie and more, I was smitten.
1. It is often referred to as "The Venice of the North"
2. UNESCO made the entire city of Brugge a WORLD HERITAGE SITE
3.Michelangelo's only sculpture to leave Italy "Madonna and Child" resides in Brugge and can be seen in the main church
4. The Basilica of the Holy Blood is kept in Brugge. The people believe that this piece of material contains Jesus Christ's actual blood and every year it is paraded around the city where they say the blood turns back to liquid.
5. It is way too beautiful to pass up. If you have the chance to visit, take it!
But I didn't, so it doesn't." - In Bruges
